Supporting the frontline: Coding for Caregivers
Developers of the world have the heart and hands to improve technology solutions for the best of us – nurses and physicians. Our 2021 Coding for Caregivers event brought together more than 600 ITG colleagues to develop code for software proposed by nurses across the nation. Two and a half days later, concepts were proven, prototypes were built and solutions were started.
The event was truly unique. Participants loved the colorful and whimsical design of the event so much that they wore their t-shirts backwards to showcase as much of the logo as possible.
“Brain breaks” were provided to coders in the way of photo contests, yoga lessons and of course, baby kangaroos. That’s right, day two of the event featured a livestream from the Nashville Zoo where baby kangaroos Marly and Joe, and baby goats Buckbeack and Aragog melted hearts and reenergized minds.
The event ended with an award ceremony, where a one-of-a-kind, highly-coveted trophy was awarded to one winning division.
